CE/CME-Approved Resilience Workshops for Healthcare Teams

Practical, science-based continuing education for nurses, physicians, and PAs — jointly accredited through the Postgraduate Institute for Medicine and Emotional Acuity.

Why Resilience Training Matters

Healthcare professionals are working in fast-paced, emotionally demanding environments that stretch focus, decision-making, and emotional well-being to the breaking point. Burnout and overload affect not only staff retention but also patient safety and organizational culture.

Education coordinators are being asked to provide CE/CME activities that go beyond compliance — programs that equip clinicians with real skills they can use in the middle of a shift.

These CE/CME-approved workshops do just that, blending polyvagal-informed regulation strategies with practical tools to manage stress and cognitive load.

Workshop Options

Resilience Reset: Polyvagal Practices for Sustainable Clinical Practice (1 Hour | 1.0 CE/CME Credit)
A focused introduction to polyvagal theory — the science of how the nervous system shifts between calm, connection, and survival states. Participants practice quick, evidence-based techniques to regulate stress and recover steadiness in real time.

The Science of Resilience: Polyvagal and Cognitive Load Practices for Healthcare Professionals (3 Hours | 2.5 CE/CME Credits)
An extended training that combines nervous system regulation with cognitive load strategies. Participants explore how stress affects brain systems, how to manage decision fatigue, and how to reframe unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to burnout. Through guided practice and case-based discussion, learners leave with tools they can apply immediately to sustain performance and well-being.

✅ Both programs are CE/CME-approved and available in-person or online with full participant engagement.

What Makes These Programs Different

  • Jointly Accredited: Developed in partnership with the Postgraduate Institute for Medicine, meeting CE/CME standards for physicians, nurses, and PAs.

  • Clinically Informed: Designed and delivered by Kelly Baez, PhD, LPC, a trauma therapist and Certified First Responder Counselor with 20+ years of experience.

  • Evidence-Based: Grounded in neuroscience, polyvagal theory, and cognitive load research.

  • Practice-Oriented: Emphasizes tools clinicians can apply immediately in high-stress workflows.

Learning Objectives (for 3-hour program)

At the conclusion of the 3-hour program, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe how clinical stress impacts brain function and decision-making.

  2. Differentiate between autonomic nervous system states and identify how each presents in clinical care.

  3. Apply strategies to reduce cognitive overload in high-stress workflows.

  4. Recognize common cognitive distortions in healthcare and reframe them effectively.

  5. Create a personal plan for nervous system regulation and cognitive reframing.

Next Steps for Coordinators
