FAQ’s

Do you take insurance?

I am a private-pay, out-of-network provider. While I don’t accept insurance directly, your insurance plan may have out-of-network benefits, which means that they will reimburse you for a portion of our session cost. I have partnered with Mentaya to handle the process of submitting superbills to your insurance automatically for you (available upon request).

Note: Using Mentaya is completely optional, and as your therapist I do not benefit in any way from your participation.  Let me know if you have questions or would like help checking your benefits. You can also get superbills to submit to your insurance company on your own if you’d like.

How long does counseling typically last?

The duration of counseling varies depending on the individual and their specific needs, but it can range from a few sessions to several months or longer. I can make recommendations but you are absolutely in control of when and how often to meet.

What is EMDR therapy?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy helps individuals process distressing memories by using bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements or taps instead of the typical “talk therapy” approach. Through guided sessions, EMDR aims to alleviate symptoms of trauma, anxiety, and other psychological issues by facilitating the brain’s natural healing mechanisms.

Can I receive counseling services if I live in a different state or country?

At this time, I only provide counseling to residents of Georgia and Florida. If you travel out of state or abroad, we will need to reschedule.

What if I experience technical difficulties during an online counseling session?

Technology is great until it decides not to work. While it is rare, technical difficulties can happen. In the event of technical difficulties during an online counseling session, we can decide on next steps such as switching to a different device, or rescheduling the session to ensure the continuity of care.
